GETS YOU CLOSER TO THE FISH THAN EVER BEFORE

We have replaced still images with live video streams in the Aquabyte User Portal. With live video from the Aquabyte camera, you get much closer to the fish in the pen and gain unique insights into their behavior, whether the fish stock is in open pen or submerged to depths of 40 meters. We call it “Penflix”!

WHY VIDEO IS BETTER:

  • You gain unique insights into the fish behavior
  • You can observe the fish up close during feeding
  • It makes it easier for you to determine where the fish are in the pen and position the camera in the best location (with the winch)
  • You can use the Aquabyte camera to verify how deep the fish are swimming
  • You can combine the Aquabyte camera with feeding camera – or use it as a backup if the feeding camera is offline
  • And if you want to take a closer look at fish swimming past the camera, just press pause
The upgraded user portal can display video streams from multiple Aquabyte cameras simultaneously and provides easy access to important information.

UNIQUE INSIGHT INTO FISH BEHAVIOR

Still images can tell you something about the fish’s condition. However, live streaming video provides unique insight into the fish’s behavior and how they move: How fast are they swimming? How do they eat? Is it chaos, or are the fish swimming in schools?
Behavior and movement tell a lot about health and welfare, and live video from the Aquabyte camera allows you see how the fish are actually doing.

A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

The feeding camera usually monitors the fish from below. The Aquabyte camera provides live video from a completely different perspective: the fish’s own. You are inside the school and observe the fish up close as they swim by. Positioned closely to the fish, and with high-quality video streaming, you gain valuable information that you would otherwise miss out on.

PRESS PAUSE

Detailed viewing in the user portal provides you with video streams from one Aquabyte camera at a time and easy access to the winch control panel.

The upgraded camera overview in the Aquabyte User Portal can display multiple video streams simultaneously, and you can choose which pens to activate or hide. If there’s one pen you want to take a closer look at, you can open it in a separate detailed view. And if something special catches your interest, just press pause to freeze the image.

EASY TO FIND THE FISH

As the fish move around the pen, the Aquabyte camera should follow suit. With video streaming and winch control integrated into the user interface, it’s easy to find the fish are and position the camera for optimal data and information collection.

COMBINE WITH FEEDING CAMERA

With real-time video streaming from the Aquabyte camera, you can observe the fish behavior up close during feeding and use the depth meter in the camera to verify how deep the fish are while eating. Video from two cameras with different placements, combined with data from the Aquabyte system, are useful tools when optimizing expensive feeding.
And if the regular feeding camera is offline, the video stream from the Aquabyte system can be used as a backup.

The Aquabyte camera captures over one million images per day, which are analyzed using machine learning and artificial intelligence.

STILL CAPTURING OVER ONE MILLION IMAGES PER DAY

Even though we have upgraded the User Portal to display live video instead of images, the Aquabyte camera still captures over one million high-resolution images from the pen every day. Just like before, the images are analyzed using artificial intelligence and advanced machine learning to provide daily updates on lice counts, continuous weight estimates, and insights into fish welfare.
And with “Penflix” and streamed video in the Aquabyte User Portal, you gain additional real-time insight into the behavior and movement of the fish in the pen.
